Account Executive

Want to help solve the housing crisis? Think we should have more renewable energy infrastructure? Have an active interest in politics?

At Thorncliffe we have been working in property communications since 1999. We help clients build things – houses, solar farms, workplaces by communicating with stakeholders, residents’ groups and decision makers, including councillors.

Our office is in Vauxhall (next to Lambeth Bridge) in the historic Royal Doulton building with free cycle parking, showers, changing facilities, lockers and a decent café with various lounges.

We provide training and development (we achieved IIP Gold) with a Standard Induction and other company training sessions throughout the year.

Your tasks
1. Writing – reports, consultation/communication materials, websites and social media content

2. Being involved in assisting the Team with online and face to face events for clients

3. Assisting the Teams with corporate communications and engagement programmes

4. Involved in writing briefing notes, Statements of Community Involvement and online transcripts. Thus, excellent written English skills is a must.

5. Building a network of relevant contacts to assist in gaining new business.

6. Travel occasionally to places outside of London (expenses paid). Plus, attending and watching Planning Committees when required.

7. Following instructions accurately and in a timely manner.

8. Ability to enter data accurately having good IT skills in the Microsoft systems. Plus, a willingness to learn in house systems, in particular In Design.

9. Working with the MD on specific client projects.

10. Being in charge of making sure the office is in order at the beginning and end of the day.

Skills we are looking for:
Educated to degree level with excellent written English with an eye for detail and accuracy.

A self -starter attitude with a keen interest in learning new IT applications and project management skills.

To have worked in the communications or political industry for a year or more.

Confident in meetings with clients face to face and online; with a ‘can do’ client service attitude.

Knowledge of planning is not expected, but it is an advantage to be political – as a councillor, former councillor, political activist or worked in the council planning department or Westminster.

Canvassing skills are of interest too.

A full driving licence is useful to drive a hired car to rural locations.

This is a full time position based in the London office
