Senior Consultant

Want to help solve the housing crisis? Think we should have more renewable energy infrastructure? Have an active interest in politics?

At Thorncliffe we have been working in property communications since 1999. We help clients build things – houses, solar farms, workplaces by communicating with stakeholders, residents’ groups and decision makers, including councillors

Our office is in Vauxhall (next to Lambeth Bridge) in the historic Royal Doulton building – with free cycle parking, showers, changing facilities, lockers and a decent café with various lounges.

We provide training and development (we achieved IIP Gold) with a Standard Induction and other company training sessions throughout the year.

Your tasks
1. Writing – reports, consultation/communication materials, websites and social media content

2. Being responsible for organising online and face to face events for clients

3. Assisting with reviewing colleagues work

4. Contributing to new business proposals

5. Assisting the CCO and MD with pitches and gaining new business by building a network of relevant contacts

6. Travel occasionally to places outside of London (expenses paid)

7. Being responsible for clients and instructing wider team on strategy for projects

8. Deputising for CCO when required.

Skills we are looking for:

Educated to degree level with excellent written English with an eye for detail and accuracy.

A self -starter attitude with a keen interest in helping other colleagues to navigate more complex requirements.

To have project management skills and be able to take responsibility for projects.

To have worked in the communications or political industry and looking to step up into a more senior role.

Confident in meetings with clients face to face and online; with a ‘can do’ client service attitude.

Knowledge of planning is not expected, but it is an advantage to be political – as a councillor, former councillor, political activist or worked in the council planning department or Westminster.

A full driving licence is useful to drive a hired car to rural locations.

You should be located in Greater London or just outside e.g. Surrey for good commuter links as there will be occasions to attend evening planning meetings with your clients and meeting clients.

This is a full time role based in our London Office.
